- Using a soil probe or small spade, take a 6-inch deep slice at 4 – 6 different locations within the field. Approximately 1 probe per acre. Mix them thoroughly and fill the sample bag.
- Fill out the worksheet provided to send with the soil to the lab. Important: If you are an organic farmer, use O- as a prefix for your sample number, so we don’t recommend any prohibited substances for your fields. Examples: O-Field 8 or O-Bottom Field.
- Send your samples to: Brookside Laboratories, 200 White Mountain Drive, New Bremen, Ohio 45869
Note: These analysis reports will be sent to Green Field Farms® and you will then be invoiced by Green Field Farms®.
Tip: Draw a sketch of your farm and identify all your fields with a name or number. Always use the same name or number when sending soil samples. We keep your soil analysis reports on file to make comparisons in the following years.
